Whole Body Vibration

Whole Body Vibration (WBV) is the newest and most revolutionary fitness and wellness concept to hit the global exercise industry in the last 30 years since aerobics, spinning and kickboxing. Top medical centers around the world, professional sports organizations, elite training facilities, the USA Olympic teams and well known health clubs are currently using various whole body devices as an adjunct to their other exercise training equipment.

Now, with millions of hours of actual whole body vibration use through out the world, we can confidently say that it is one of the safest, most effective and easiest exercise systems presently available for anyone to use.

APPLICATIONS

Its applications range from elite fitness conditioning to total body wellness, rejuvenation and anti-aging therapies. In the short training time of only 15 minutes a day, three to five times a week, a new level of health, wellness and sports performance can be achieved. If rapid body toning and cellulite reduction are your goals, then you will appreciate WBV’s stimulatory effects on cellular metabolism and total metabolic rate.

In addition, regular use is the most effective way to optimize the body’s full genetic potential. Whole body vibration technology is backed by over thirty-five years of medical and fitness research as well as numerous on-going scientific studies.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

What actually is Whole Body Vibration (WBV)? Well in layman terms, it is the application of variable vibrating frequencies to the entire body’s muscular, skeletal, organ, glandular and nervous systems. These vibrations usually range from 20 Hz to as high as 65 Hz depending on the type and brand of machine used.

The differing vibration frequencies have different effects on body function. Typically, lower frequencies are very effective for strength training, warming up and cooling down while higher frequency are usually used for massage and increasing blood circulation to peripheral body tissues.

The vibrations are created by a mechanically vibrating platform and transduced to the body through the parts of the body, usually the feet or hands that are in contact with the vibrating plate or platform. The body automatically adjusts to these mechanical stimuli by responding with a stretch reflex. This stretch reflex that is occurring in the muscles actually is a reflexive adjustment that is occurring in the brain. Consequently, WBV causes the brain to train in a way that induces a neuro-regenerative effect. In other words, the brain is rejuvenated and restored to a healthier state of function.
